The Destination Australia Scholarships
The Destination Australia Scholarship is a program created by the Commonwealth government’s Destination Australia initiative. update

The program’s objective is to enhance and foster regional tertiary education providers and offer students an exceptional learning environment.
The Commonwealth of Australia provided Grant Funding for the International Education Support program, which resulted in the creation of this scholarship.
Benefits of Destination Australia Scholarships
A total of 14 scholarships will be offered, with 12 available for domestic students and 2 for international students.
The scholarship amount will be $15,000 per year, and will be granted for the duration of the recipient’s program, up to a maximum of three years.
Payment of the scholarship will be made twice a year, after the census date of each semester.
Requirements for Destination Australia Scholarships
Before submitting their application, potential applicants should make sure that they satisfy all requirements.
In order to be eligible for the scholarship, you must fulfill the following criteria:
- You must be an international student with a valid student visa.
- You must be a new student who will be enrolled full-time at Deakin Warrnambool Campus for on-campus study in 2023.
- Priority will be given to students who:
a) Can demonstrate academic excellence,
b) Plan to move to the Warrnambool area for the entirety of their studies.
Selection Criteria
The scholarship has the following terms and conditions:
- The scholarship is not transferable to any other campuses.
- You are required to remain enrolled at the Warrnambool Campus, and at least 75% of your studies must be taken in the on-campus mode at the Warrnambool Campus.
- You must have a valid Student Visa for the entire period of the scholarship.
- You are required to maintain continuous residency in a regional location for the entire period of the scholarship. If you are selected, you will be requested to provide proof of your residential address, such as utility bills, rates, rental notice, and so on.
